After a false start a few years ago, Everett is finally in the throws of a major waterfront overhaul and update. The first step was to clean up contaminated soil from the Everett Shipyard site. The Department of Ecology completed the removal and disposal of 15,000 tons of contaminated soil in November, 2013. Now it’s time to build.
The new development will include hotels, shops, restaurants, over 600 condos and apartments, office space, lots of parks, trails, waterfront overlooks, greenspace and significant marina upgrades. The Port believes this space will add 1,600 jobs, a welome statistic I am sure.
